Proposal
Road safety improvements to Burford Bridge including formation of a new footway on the bridge adjacent to eastern parapet. (note: this footway replaces the current informal pedestrian area). The new footway will be flush with the road, and will comprise an ULTICOLOUR SMA finish: it will be defined by a 100mm edgeline in white methyl methacrylate. At either end a cast iron bell bollard is to be installed within the footway to act as a deterrent to vehicles overrunning the footway. In addition to the footway, a 100mm edgeline in white methyl methacrylate will be applied to the carriageway adjacent the western parapet of the bridge to provide improved guidance to vehicles crossing the bridge. (amended plans)
