Proposed development comprises the following over a total length of approximately 70 metres: Remove existing Nicospan bank protection. Install new L8 trench sheet piles with tie bars/anchor piles. At southern end, end of pile run to be taken at a 30 degree angle into the bank. Backfilling with clay or if there is insufficient space, with Bentonite clay pellets. Crest raising at the front verge, with dredgings if suitable. Pre-planted coir rolls to be added along the length of the piled section. Towpath surface to be dressed with Breedon gravel or similar. In addition, where the existing aqueduct approach wall meets the piling, brick courses are to be added to raise the freeboard. 3no. bollards are to be installed at the aqueduct waiting area.
