Belle View DSR Access Road, NottinghamLocation: Access road leading to Belle View Service Reservoir, Corporation Oaks, Mapperley Park, Nottingham (Grid Ref SK 57368 41381, postcode NG3 4LB).Tree Species: Lime (Tilia spp.) positioned along the access road.Issue Identified:Overhanging branches from 14 of the roadside Lime trees are restricting access for Severn Trent service vehicles. Clearance is required to maintain safe and unrestricted access to the Service Reservoir.Proposed Works:? Undertake crown lifting of Lime trees along the highlighted access road.? Raise crown height to approximately 4 metres above ground level to provide sufficient clearance for service and emergency vehicles.? Works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 (Tree Work ? Recommendations), ensuring good arboricultural practice.? Retain a balanced canopy form and avoid excessive removal of live growth.? All arising material to be chipped and removed from site (or disposed of as agreed).Environmental & Safety Considerations:? Works to be supervised by a competent, qualified arborist.? All operatives to hold relevant NPTC/LANTRA certificates.? Appropriate traffic and pedestrian management to be implemented as required.? Nesting bird checks to be undertaken if works fall within the nesting season (March?August).Objective:To provide the necessary clearance for ongoing operational access to the Belle View Service Reservoir, whilst maintaining the long-term health and amenity value of the Lime trees.
