Proposal
I am considering purchasing The Deans, Dippenhall Street, Crondall GU10 5NY. This is a Grade II listed building within the Crondall conservation area. The property is in desperate need of renovation internally - i.e. no impact on the outside appearance. It has been empty for almost a year. My proposal is to convert the current ground floor reception room into a modern kitchen. A convert the current kitchen into a utility room and downstair lavatory. Before proceeding with the purchase of this property i want to ensure that these proposed amendments are aligned with current conservation regulations. In that respect the current ground floor reception room has wood panelling. I suspect this covering is simply painted MDF panels and not of any historic value but i need to check. I also need to ensure that i am not in breach of any rules by converting a room into a kitchen and would really appreciate expert advice.
