Proposal

T16 - Horse Chestnut, Reduce crown by 5 metres - Fungal brackets of Ganoderma adspersum on south side of trunk at 1 metre. History of large branch shedding but has been previously reduced to manage the risk. Various decayed rips and pruning wounds with internal decay. Damaged buttresses roots on north side with internal decay (on outside of lean). Internal decay throughout will beexpected to have coalesced into a single large area of decay / dysfunction /desiccation (Horse Chestnut has poor defence of decay in the vertical direction). The fungus is infrequently associated with structural failure of trees as it is largely saprotrophic, but the overall condition of the tree with its multitude of defects necessitates preventative tree surgery. It is recognised that the recommended workcould ultimately lead to the loss of the tree.
