T1 Semi Mature Ash ( Fractions excelsior ) FellThis twin stemmed tree is in the front garden on the left as you drive down the drive. This tree is now showing sings of ash die back ( Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus). It has a sparse crown with dead new growth and the start of epicormic growth which is would suggest the tree is under stress. There is also a large limb which has failed this has a fungus bracket on it called a shaggy bracket this would of caused the limb to fail as this fungus causes white rot. At the base of one of the stem there is a massive wound area this will be hosting pathogens. There is a substantial amount of decay in this stem, In the autumn months its very likely there will be fungus fruiting body's in this area. With all these faults ill recommend this tree is fell this winter.
