Proposal
The proposal is to remove the front boundary wall (approx. 450mm height) and continue the existing gravel across the frontage to create a second car parking space. Reclaimed bricks from the demolition of the wall will be used to repair deteriorated sections of the remaining boundary walls, create a new end pillar at the entrance to the driveway and to create edges for new planting beneath the property's bay window. It would also be necessary to extend the tarmac across the turfed area between the wall and the foot path, and extend the existing tarmac across the highway verge to allow vehicular access to the driveway. Areas to be re-laid with tarmac are away from the existing street signage, telecommunications cabinet and tree. The dropped curb will not need extending. No new drainage or soakaways have been proposed due to the porous nature of the proposed gravel surface and the amount of turf and vegetation which will remain.
