Proposal

In general, the aim is to restore the tangled, overcrowded mess that has resulted from several years of neglect ... to a healthy, managed hedgerow along hte boundary, next to the road - both to improve the visual aspect and to enhance the safety of passing traffic. Reduce plum cherry (labelled 2), holly (labelled 3), hawthorn (labelled 5) to ~6ft in height and maintain this level encouraging growth to form a hedge. Remove Lawson cypress (labelled 1) - not good specimens, overcrowding and overhanging roadway - example in better condition set further back to be kept. Remove remaining ash (labelled 4) as precaution againt ash dieback. Prune back laurel (labelled 6) to give more space for surrounding trees. Prune back sycamore (labelled 7) branches that are over or growing towards roadway. Will replant gaps in hedge line and replant amongst trees set back from road and other trees to allow them to develop fully into natural shape and size.
