Proposal

Non-material amendment to the previously approved scheme under 24/00012/VAC to fit electric sectional roller shutter doors, front and rear, to existing carports at both no 8 and no 9 Sim Close. This is a joint application between Mr and Mrs Lockwood, owners and residents of 9 Sim Close and Mr and Mrs Brearley, owners and residents of no 8 Sim Close.Subject to approval, both properties are to be fitted with matching Hormann electric sectional roller shutter doors to both front and rear of the carports at no 8 and no 9 Sim Close (the attached plans refer to number 8 as plot 1 and number 9 as plot 2).It is proposed to fit both properties with the same specification and colour of door (Hormann LPU42 insulated white RAL9016) to match the existing doors/cladding. This is to ensure that the new doors are in keeping with the overall design of the development and the previously approved planning specifications. The carports are supported by two I-beams, front and rear, which are clad in white PVC, it is proposed to fit the roller doors to the inner face of each beam, this will create a secure parking area 3.7m wide x 5.7m long for both properties. The floor of the existing carports and external parking area is block paved and water permeable, there is to be no change to this flooring and so no alteration to the existing water drainage. The orientation of the buildings is such that the carports are not overlooked, front or back, by any neighbour or from any public path. In addition, the carports are not visible from any public highway, the nearest being Old Dalby Lane and the A606, Nottingham Road.Access to the carport for vehicle parking would be from the private driveway that is Sim Close. Access to the front of the carport is from a private footpath, this footpath is for the sole use of number 8 and number 9 Sim Close. The front doors would open up on the the existing lawned gardens of both properties and for this reason would be little used.
