Proposal
REAR: ONE Lombardy poplar (T1)(ht.16m) FELL. Reason: large cavity going through the stem at approx.ht.4m and decay throughout the stem, only approx 5% sound wood, hazardous tree high risk to property, PTI qualified arborist Jake Loader conducted the assessment, felled tree to be replaced under duty to replace. REAR: ONE Ash (T2)(ht.12m) CROWN REDUCE if possible, rather than FELL. Reason: small work zone to dismantle the Lombardy poplar next to garden cabin, ash will need to be reduced, possibly felled to work on the Lombardy poplar, no access for a MEWP or crane, felled tree to be replaced under duty to replace.Informative A: huge thank you for agreeing in agent's email 21.11.25 to look to retain ash T2 with crown reduction if possible. Informative B: please retain a safe low stem of Lombardy poplar T1 for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: the landowner has a duty to plant a replacement tree when a tree in a conservation area is removed because it is dead, or presents an immediate risk of serious harm, para 121 Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas, government guidance 6 March 2014. Informative D: replace Lombardy poplar T1, and ash T2 if also felled, with mixed species selected from: bird cherry, small leaved lime, oak, Robinia, wild cherry, Norway maple, whitebeam, beech, wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis), walnut, hornbeam, Hop hornbeam, Indian horse chestnut, Tulip tree, wingnut, Golden Rain Tree/Pride of India (Koelreuteria paniculata), Katsura (Cercidiphyllum japonicum), Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum), Italian alder, Hackberry (Celtis australis), Turkish hazel, Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioica), Bee-bee tree (Tetradium daniellii/Euodia hupehensis), Caucasian Elm (Zelkova carpinifolia), Persian Ironwood (Parrotia persica), Mulberry, for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change - see below for further replanting details. Informative E: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
