REAR: ONE twin-stemmed Ash (T1)(ht.18m) FELL. Reason: Fell due to presence of Inonotus hispidus present in high canopy, included bark fork, next to boundary wall and the advancement of Ash die-back (not evidenced). Ash dieback renders trees unsafe to manage in the future and economically unviable as it will have to be managed with a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP). Replanting proposal: Replace with planting Caucasian Lime REAR: ONE multi-stemmed Ash (T2)(ht.22m) FELL. Reason: Fell due to this being a lapsed high pollard tree that has ash dieback (not evidenced), also unsafe to manage in the future and economically unviable as this will require the use of a MEWP. Replanting proposal: Replace with planting Caucasian Lime. (please see informative B below encouraging retention with T2 with crown reduction management).Informative A: the proposed replacement trees for T1 and T2 with 2x Caucasian limes, together with the proposed replacement for previously felled sycamore T3 (ref DC/24/134370) is hugely appreciated and welcomed to maintain tree canopy cover in the long-term. Agent asked to remind the applicant of the importance of frequent watering during growing seasons for 5yrs to ensure successful establishment. Informative B: the retention of ash T2 is encouraged to retain tree canopy cover for rear outlook amenity with Pagoda Gardens, wildlife and environmental benefits, and linear green infrastructure between treed railsides and Blackheath SINCs. Informative C: please create habitat log piles for wildlife and biodiversity with arisings .
