Approximate location

Proposal

T1 Copper Beech - Reduce and reshape by up to 2.2m to near previous pruning points. Drop crotch pruning techniques will be used where possible to leave a natural flowing shape. The finished tree height will be approx. 17m. Finished radial spread to the north 6.5m, east 8.2m, south 7.3m, south west 9m and west 6m. This tree is a of twin stemmed form from approx. 2.5m in height and the union appears to be a sound compound fork. Given its location adjacent to new buildings and a car park I feel it would be prudent to re reduce the tree as per its previous management. this will improve light levels to the new buildings and create a balanced relationship with the trees in its location. T2 Horse Chestnut- Reduce and reshape by up to 2.5m to near previous pruning points. Drop crotch pruning techniques will be used where possible to leave a natural flowing shape. The finished tree height will be approx. 20-22m. Finished radial spread to the north 5.2m, east 5.6m, south 5.2m and west 3.7m. remove the epicormic growth from the stem to a height of 4m. This tree has hollowing/decay in the old pruning points and possibly honey fungus at the base on the tension side. This is a large tree in a high target area, it is showing hollowing of old pruning wounds which is typical of the species. its would be considered proactive management to carry out this reduction work. T3 Horse Chestnut- Carry out a 2.5m lateral reduction to the lower and mid canopy to bring the over long side branches back into the upper canopy shape/form. Remove the epicormic growth from the stem to a height of 4m. This is not a height reduction. Finished tree height will remain the same untouched. Finished radial spread to the north 5.2m, east 3.1m, south 5.2m and west 6.1m. This is a large tree in a high target area, it is showing hollowing of old pruning wounds which is typical of the species. its would be considered proactive management to carry out this lateral reduction work to lessen end loading on the long branches.(Tree Preservation Order P1/201/90) (Copper Beech and Horse Chestnuts T12 & T8 & T9 of TPO Order)
