Proposal

We have a huge ash tree in our back garden which has ash die back. The tree already has a weakness where the trunk is split and a brace has been installed at a height of approximately 10 to 12 meters. We are very keen to look after the tree and do not want it removed. We have had advice from an arborist who has suggested that the best option is to reduce the height to reduce risk of damage during storms and to generally manage the tree for its best health. He advised that if we do these works the tree should be fine for years to come. Although it does have die back it is not severe.I contacted the planning department in 2022 who confirmed that our property was in a conservation area but that there were no TPOs currently on any of our trees. We would like to reduce the whole crown to just above the height of the brace currently.
