Upshire Conservation Area T24: Sweet Chestnut - Dead sweet chestnut that has been monolithed to 8 metres. There is significant decay, with bark falling off at the bottom and at the top a lot of dead wood covered in ivy. The tree is also leaning. The tree survey recommended reducing it to 4 metres. However, the tree surgeon we use has said that he feels it is too dangerous to climb and that he would have to fell it to the ground.
