Proposal
EL:91/05 - We have recently moved to the property and wish to carry out work to the trees covered by TPO EL 91/5 G6. There are 5 trees in this TPO group, as set out below. As far as we can tell no work has been applied for with respect to these trees since 1999 and they have grown very tall and out of control. Sycamore - This tree is completely dead. (All that is left is a rotting trunk with potentially no roots.) We have been advised by a tree surgeon that this tree should be removed as it is dangerous given the risk that the trunk falls as there is nothing really holding it up. False Acacia - This tree has many dead branches, approximately 50% are dead, which is clearly dangerous for our family and children when we're in the garden. I honestly feel that some will fall at any time. We would propose to have these dead branches removed and also to reduce the height of the tree by a third. Lime - This tree appears more healthy but it has become too big and has quite a few very large, dead branches. One such branch recently fell really close to a visitor to the garden with no absolutely no warning. We were all quite shaken as it fell less than 2 metres from him and given the size of the branch, he would have been badly hurt or even killed. Photos of dead branch attached. It was the wake up call we needed to complete this application. We would propose to reduce the height and span of the crown of the tree by 30% - which is where it appears to have been previously cut to. Blue Lawson Cyprus - we like these 2 trees but they have become too large for a residential garden. We would propose to reduce their height by 30%.
