Proposal
T001 - Silver Birch - Fell and replace with 1x Crab Apple within the rear garden Reason for Works - The specimen provides roosting space for pigeons, that cause large quantities of faeces to gather on the decking, summerhouse, seating area and patio, see appended photographs. The quantities of faeces are large during the spring to autumn seasons and renew regularly. There is concern that the frequency at which the pigeon faeces require removal by the homeowners carries a risk of diseases associated with the removal of pigeon faeces, such as Psittacosis and Salmonella. Haydens understand the client has consulted with a bird-proofing specialist who advised there was little in the way of practical measures to dissuade pigeon roosting owing to the frequency and availability of suitable branches over the summerhouse, decking and seating areas. Intervention via pruning would also be of limited effect.
