Replacement of conductors and refurbishment of tower BM17 within Ferndown Common SSSI. The proposed activities will include: (1.) ‘Undergrounding’ of existing 33kV electricity overhead line (OHL) by installing approximately 520m 485m of new underground cables by open cut trenching. (2.) Installation of five new terminal H-poles. (3.) Removal of four three spans of existing 33kV OHL, including seven four electricity poles and associated steelwork and stays. (4.) Replacement of existing conductors on the 132kV Bournemouth to Mannington OHL between towers BM17 and BM18. (5.) Steelwork refurbishment at tower BM17. (6.) Painting of tower BM17. (7.) Vegetation removal to facilitate the above.
